Five Ft. Three

Some things you can’t change

on July 16, 2007

Whenever a huge natural disaster occurs, such as the recent floods in Texas, it gives me pause. Because as smart as we humans think we are, as much as we have discovered and invented, the forces of nature are something we can never conquer. We cannot prevent earthquakes, tornados or hurricanes. The best we can do is predict them, and do what we can to get out of way when they hit.

Which brings me to global warming. I believe global warming is a natural event due mostly to nature being nature. Experts have given us warnings that disaster is going to happen because of global warming. We as mere humans can do nothing to stop it, just as we cannot stop the hurricane or earthquake. The prediction is there, but even experts have been wrong in their predictions. Didn’t experts previously warn that the next ice age was upon us? So which is right, warming or freezing? I think we need to put our focus to dealing with what nature brings us rather than waste our time thinking we can stop it.
