Five Ft. Three

“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.” ― Milton Friedman

moral agnosticism, something tells me that great theologian Ratzinger, now pope, should have coined this phrase meaning an ingrained inability on the part of many people, primarily liberals, to come to ultimate moral conclusions about the great issues of the day, abortion and euthanasia being foremost examples, but the great pro-choice copout employed by Rudy and others in this presidential election cycle no longer washes. We have the technology and then some to study the unborn of our species (homo estupido), so it’s not that. At root is the philosophy of narcissistic solipsism at work, my needs at the moment are paramount, this mentality, this selfish ethos, is the basis of all present-day morality. We’re in an existential morass, we no longer share a coherent moral philosophy and we’re proud of it as we happily stumble around in the dark and call it tolerance. They ask us “why do you talk about abortion so much?” – maybe it’s because the thinking behind Pro-Choice is so stunning.
