Being Catholic

on March 30, 2008

I like being Catholic. Of course the Catholic Church calls itself the one true Church, that began with the disciples and has continued through today. That seems rather presumptious to some, as if we think only Catholics make it to Heaven. To tell you truthfully, I don’t think Jesus died on the Cross only for people who were eventually going to call themselves Catholic, He died and rose from the dead for all of us. However, I don’t see how believing that your Church is “the best” so to speak is wrong, after all if you didn’t think it was the best one why would you belong to it? And unlike our ancestry or our social status, which we have no control over, we get to choose which religion we want to follow (or not follow) which truly makes it a special part of our very being.

Just some thoughts I had tonight.
