Five Ft. Three

The ultimate bailout

on September 19, 2008

Z-man at his blog yesterday spoke about messages from the Virgin Mary, which is what inspires me today to wrote this piece.

Now the liberals and those panderers in Washington are always willing to be the safety net for when bad things happen to people, or to businesses. Bailouts and welfare are causing our already unimaginable deficit to grow even larger.

Got me thinking about God’s forgiveness, and how we are all sinners and yet he loves us and forgives us our sins always. It’s like the greatest bailout, isn’t it?

The only difference is that God’s bailout does not come at the expense of others. He has an unlimited resource called mercy that he can dispense at his own will for ever and ever, without taking forgiveness away from any other being.

The government, however, thinks it has unlimited resources, but it simply does not. Government is not God (although the liberals seem to think so). It’s not the job of the government to dole out forgiveness for the mistakes made by individuals and/or businesses, because it must rely on someone else to make good on that forgiveness.

Penance for one’s sins must come from within the sinner, not from anywhere else.
