Five Ft. Three

“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.” ― Milton Friedman

Today is National Sanctity of Human Life Day

on January 18, 2009

As proclaimed by President George W. Bush this past week.

There was much about President Bush that I ended up not agreeing with him, he wasn’t very conservative fiscally, but when it comes to his commitment to the pro-life cause (which is part of the Republican platform) he never wavered.

So I thank him for this proclamation and for his vision that his constitutional promises to protect extend to the unborn.

On the flipside, Obama has said his act as president would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which would pretty much make abortion legal and undo any restrictions.

At the link above, at the bottom of the article is a link where you can sign a petition, but I would also recommend calling or writing your representatives and sentators to log your disapproval for this Act.

Even those who are pro-choice ought to look at the provisions for this law to see how very overreaching this law would be, and consider the implications should it become law.
