Five Ft. Three

“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.” ― Milton Friedman

Are enough people waking up?

on August 30, 2009

I love my friend Nicole dearly, she is a conservative and a great friend. But a comment she made yesterday at her kids’ birthday party gave me pause. She said Obama wasn’t that bad, or something to that effect. I said, do you listen to Glenn Beck or Rush at all? (Because the msm is not bringing up a whole lot of things Glenn and Rush are.) She said no. I know she is busy, we all are, but it made me think that there are a lot of people like her, who have certain values and who do want our country to be the beacon of freedom that it was founded on. Yet they just aren’t really seeing what is going on, not on purpose, they are just trusting that the system we have that has be in place for over 200 years is working. It’s not that they don’t care, they just don’t keep up with the news.

Blogging is great, but for the most part we political bloggers are either preaching to the choir (although it is good to know we have support) or preaching to the liberals who cannot be convinced no matter how much logic or truth you give them, they don’t use their heads so how can we debate?

Therefore, it is those people who just aren’t paying attention that we need to reach. Now maybe they would agree with Obama and his socialistic plans, that is fine as long as they have a full understanding of what that means for our freedoms and how much power it gives Washington D.C. But I suspect that most Americans, like my friend Nicole, would be outraged if they knew what was going on.

I may be busy, like you, but I want to get the truth out. What is going on is too important for people to not know.
