Five Ft. Three

“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.” ― Milton Friedman

Sadly, there really are two Americas

on September 18, 2010

President Lincoln only wanted to try to keep the union together, but I simply cannot see where the two views of America are ever going to be reconciled and be able to come to a consensus.  We are a divided nation.  There are those who hold rallies to restore honor, and then there are those who will mock that.  There are those who want a land of opportunity, and then there are those who want a land of handouts.  There are those who just want to work and enjoy the fruits of their labor, and there are those who think they have some right to the fruits of other people’s labor.  And there are those who think the unborn deserve respect and a chance at life, and there are those who think that human lives are dispensable if they cause a burden to you.

I would personally love it if we could divide this nation into those of us who want simple respect and good luck to the rest of you, you’ll need it.
